Sunset

This year has been filled with many unexpected twists and turns. My youngest daughter was diagnosed with the type of cardiac arrthymia known to cause sudden cardiac death in young athletes.  Despite his best efforts, her electrophysiologist in Ohio was unable to correct the problem but knew the doctor that could help her, but it required us to travel from Ohio to Austin, Texas, for treatment/surgery. We made 2 trips to Austin, one in January for the consultation and one in March for the actual surgery. We absolutely loved Austin and all it had to offer! On the evening before we were ready to head back to Ohio in March, we took a riverboat cruise on Lake Austin and saw a spectacular sunset. The sunset was for me was that confirmation of God's comfort and unending love to us during our time of struggle and need. Just last week, as my daughter saw her electrophysiologist in Ohio, we saw evidence that the surgery had been a complete success! This LO features the fabulous sunset we experienced in Austin.
Inspiration for this LO came from December Week 2 Sketch Challege at Let's Get Sketchy at

  5. I love your layout, very nice! thanks for joining us at lgs! I wish the best for your daughter and her heart condition. My son was "almost" diagnosed with the same thing...for two horrible weeks last summer we thought he might have that because a doctor read his ekg wrong after he had fainting spells...it was very scary, it took a pediatric cardiologist to set things straight and he turned out to be fine, but I know how you are feeling so I will be praying for you and her :)

    1. Thank you, Laurie, for your wonderful comments but especially for your thoughts and prayers. It is so scary to see your child go through situations like these but God is so good and through Him and the prayers of friends and family we made it through! Blessings to you and your family this holiday season!
